1. Call each other every day. In long distance relationships time differences can make it difficult, but seldom impossible. Make sure too, that when you do call, you carve out time that's good quality, not just the day's leftovers!
2. Give her your entire focus! Don't multitask when you're on the phone. Find a quiet space, get rid of distractions, turn off the TV, put your feet up, and propel yourself down that phone line, into her warmth.
3. Always ask how she is, and actively listen. I mean really concentrate. Oh, and talk about the small stuff, not just the big stuff. Put her front and centre of the conversation.
4. Call spontaneously while you're on the road, just to say "Hi," and tell her you love her and she's on your mind. Leave a message if she's away from the phone.
5. Send her unexpected gifts. A bouquet of flowers; a memento from the city you're visiting; some naughty lingerie; even your favorite shirt soaked in cologne.
6. Get a web cam or a videophone. These days, time and space are simply abstract ideas. The divide can be bridged so easily it will almost feel as though you're both in the same room. (even the same bed!)
7. Have great phone sex! Yes, it is possible to be wonderfully intimate, even long distance, by phone.
