How To Cope With Relationship Break-Ups and Saying Goodbye to a Relationship
Now for some good news. Many times a break-up actually signals a brand new start, not an ending. I prefer to see it as a fork in the road, and neither path ahead of you is right or wrong, because each will take you to a great destination.

There are thousands of roads we can each take through life, and that doesn't change after divorce. No, you've simply switched lanes; In fact 80% of divorced men and 75% of women remarry after divorce, and most do so within three years.

Lots of folks are also choosing to bypass the lawyers these days too. Mediation is much less expensive than litigation. An average divorce can easily cost as much as $30,000, a legal mediation much less. In fact more and more people are choosing to settle without the huge cost, humiliation and ugliness of a protracted court battle.

So what's my position on all this?

Well, my philosophy is based on three core principles:

  1. If you can avoid getting a divorce, then do!
  2. If you can't, then make it as smooth and straightforward as you possibly can.
  3. Once break-up is inevitable, switch your perspective to see it as the start of a new journey, not the end of a life.
